Yolanda Be Cool

September 24, 2019

What a high-season it has been at Mrs. Sippy! The pool club has hosted Sneaky Sound System every weekend for the past two months for Sneaky Saturday and it has been tons of fun! Looking forward to October there are a number of great artists coming to grace the stage, including none other than the legendary House duo Yolanda Be Cool!

When I last sat down with Ryan Crowe, Mrs. Sippy’s Music Director, he was very excited about the upcoming music schedule. “These boys are awesome,” Ryan exclaims. “Yolanda Be Cool is just such a legend in the House scene. Over the years they have continued to produce such excellent songs.”

In case you have been living under a rock for the past decade, Yolanda Be Cool produced that smash hit We No Speak Americano in 2010 that has been stuck in our heads and features in every House music playlist since. The duo has also produced other gems such as their platinum edit of Sugar Man and their 2013 critically acclaimed album Ladies and Mentalmen.

The Sydney-born boys have toured the world selling out every venue they perform at. They are just as comfortable on stage in front of tens of thousands of people, as they are in smaller and more intimate settings, always bringing the dopest beats to every set they play.

Ryan books them in every three months, ensuring a steady supply of awesome sounds to complement the pool vibe. “They are basically quarterly residents, and they love coming here.” Booking the duo is actually quite a challenge. “ Andy is based in Sydney and Matt is based in LA, so it can be hard to get them here at the same time, but they are both coming and it is going to be epic.”

Yolanda Be Cool will be playing at Mrs Sippy on 12 October and are scheduled to open their set at 6 pm, ready to turn it up and make it an excellent night. “There is a lot to look forward to in the next couple of weeks and through to the end of the year,” Ryan explains. “I am very excited to show our patrons what we got.”
