Music as the soul of Mrs Sippy

"I have a confession to make. I am not an active music connoisseur. I don't keep up with the latest trends, follow artists, or even recognize what I am listening to half the time." That being said I dig what our Music Director Ryan Crowe has had in store for us.

Ryan has been with us for three years, and has been our Music Director for a year now. Being Australian, it made sense Ryan frequented Bali in his younger days and found the music scene here very inviting. Bali has a wide variety in musical offerings, from hardcore hip hop to salsa, funk, deep house, and more.

Ryan has brought us a great selection of music over the years, and since becoming our Music Director has also carefully curated artists and created the chill vibe we are known for today!

“We kinda have that Glitterbox and Defected sound, which are two of the biggest house music labels in the world,” Ryan said. “Glitterbox is disco and Defected is the biggest house brand in the world. We did a Defected party here in february, which set the scene. You could describe the flow as kinda groovy, fun House music. Not a commercial edge but not too deep.”

So what’s the point? What is Ryan trying to achieve? “At the end of the day we are a daytime venue and we want to create a fun and chill atmosphere for our patrons,” Ryan explains. “Our guests are all in their own zones, chilling on daybeds or by the pool, and ultimately that is our vibe.”

Unless of course, we are hosting a big event. For the next few months we are hosting Sneaky Saturdays, with our special guest DJs Sneaky Sound System. If you aren’t familiar with the ‘stralian dance music duo then come check them out!
