Moodena kills it at Sneaky Saturday

September 19, 2019

Last week was a banger of a weekend at Mrs. Sippy! We had Moodena grace the stage on Saturday which left the crowd pumping and turned up Sneaky Saturdays to a whole other level. Ryan Crowe, Mrs. Sippy’s talented Music Director, told me he was really stoked to have Moodena play.

“Oh man, Moodena is really killing it at the moment,” Ryan told me. “I had him booked in to really bring it home strong and elevate Sneaky Saturdays as it winds down to a close.” Ryan had personally requested Moodena come play at Mrs. Sippy as his sound closely reflects Mrs. Sippy’s own artistic vision. “he has a record called tropical disco which is essentially what we base our music policy around; tropical disco and good vibes. Plus, he is really blowing up at the moment, with 3 number one hits under his belt and a funky record label.”

Moodena is somewhat of a legend in the music industry.

With over 20 years’ experience producing and DJing, He has played across the world to sold-out venues. He co-founded MN2S, an artist agency, club night, record label and distribution company. He joined Tropical Disco records in 2018 as a producer, partner, and resident DJ, producing hits such as Strawberry Jam on his debut album Tropical Disco Edits Vol 4: Sound of the Summer. This album quickly became the label’s best-selling album and claiming the number 1 spot on Traxsource. Moodena followed this up with Tropical Edits Vol. 5, 6, and 7, all of which also claimed the top spot at Traxsource. He also frequently plays for the Ministry of Sound, and his career looks to be only getting better from here.

Sneaky Saturdays, of course, has been headlined by Sneaky Sound System, the legendary DJ duo from Australia that has snagged 14 nominations at the ARIA Music Awards, winning Best Dance Release and Breakthrough Artist in 2007, as well as scoring 4 MTV Australia Awards nominations.

“Sneaky has been really good, building every week,” Ryan said. “The numbers are good, crowds have been awesome week to week and sneaky has been great. We will probably do it again next year, and we have booked Sneaky Sound System to come back for Australia day on 26 January.”
